China confirm Paris Climate Agreement

China's law makers has approve the Paris global climate agreement, state news agency Xinhua reports.

The country is the world's largest emitter of harmful CO2 emissions, which cause climate change.
China and the US are expected to jointly announce ratification at a bilateral summit later on Saturday.
In a landmark deal struck in December, countries agreed to cut emissions enough to keep the global average rise in temperatures below 2C.
Members of China's National People's Congress Standing Committee adopted "the proposal to review and ratify the Paris Agreement" on Saturday morning at the end of a week-long session.

MP Pushes for to recognise intersex people in Kenya

In Kenyan Parliament a  Member of Parliament has asked  the House to pass a law to recognise a third gender to end discrimination against those who identify as intersex.

Isaac Mwaura is also asking for funding for gender alignment surgery and a public awareness campaign to end stigma against intersex people.
"They see me as a curse," one person born female who later developed male physical characteristics told the BBC.
Intersex are people whose sex is neither completely male nor female.
James Karanja, who identifies as a male, told the BBC's Idris Situma in Nairobi of the anguish he's been experiencing.

Bukom Banku Charged For Assult

Braimah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, Ghana light heavyweight boxer who slapped and punched a lady for refusing him a kiss, has been charged for assault. The boxer-turned-musician was said to have slapped the hairdresser,  Martha Nelson who lives at Chorkor in Accra twice on August 11 before punching her on the right ribs. He faces additional charge of causing unlawful damage He has been granted a police bail and is expected to be put before court on Monday, September 5, 2016 for criminal proceedings to begin. Bukom Banku has in recent time grabbed headlines for the wrong reasons, including assault of women.

Court Grants Bail To 10 Prostesters in Zimbabwe

 Zimbabwean court has granted bail to 10 out of 68 people arraigned over public violence. They were charged for their part in an opposition protest a week ago.
A united opposition front took to the streets to demand electoral reforms ahead of 2018 polls in the southern African country rocked by an economic crisis.

I Did Not Sanction Corruption: Kuffour

Several years after his rather infamous comment to the effect that ‘corruption was as old as Adam’, Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, has explained that, the comment was not an endorsement of corruption, as some have frequently referred to it in their justification of government’s inability to tackle the canker effectively.
Mr. Kufuor said this while addressing a group of young people at the ‘DreamOval Thoughts Transfer Series’, which is a monthly forum that focuses on inspiring and nurturing young minds to do.

The comment, which is many years old, had been interpreted to mean that, corruption was not a new thing. Others also concluded that the comment exposed Mr. Kufuor as someone who was not committed to fight the canker, by cracking the whip on corrupt officials in his administration at the time.
But several years down the line, Mr. Kufuor has had to clarify the comment.

Mrs Melania Trump sues Daily Mail and U.S Blogger

Melania Trump the wife of the Republican Candidate is suing a British newspaper and a US blogger for $150m (£114m) over allegations she was a sex worker in the 1990s, her lawyer says.

The Daily Mail suggested Mrs Trump may have worked as a part-time escort in New York, and met husband Donald Trump, who is now running for the White House, earlier than previously reported.
The claims were "outright lying", lawyer Charles Harder said.
Both the blogger and the Daily Mail have since retracted their articles.
"These defendants made several statements about Mrs Trump that are 100% false and tremendously damaging to her personal and professional reputation," Mr Harder said in a statement.
"Defendants' actions are so egregious, malicious and harmful to Mrs Trump that her damages are estimated at $150m," Mr Harder's statement said.
