A church minister ordered grown women to strip naked and spanked them to cast out evil spirits, a court heard yesterday.
Howard Ike, 72, used the Bible to justify spanking the vulnerable women on their bare bottoms to satisfy his own sexual desires.
The former senior minister of the Highway to Heaven Christian Fellowship, Lagos, allegedly ran a “cult” where grown women were persuaded to strip naked so he could spank them over his knee for his own pleasure.
Married Ike and his “inner circle” used “unorthodox” teachings to instill discipline and drive out evil spirits in both women and children who had come to him for help, it is said.

US believes IS Leader have been killed-Afghanistan

Hafiz Saeed, leader of so-called Islamic State (IS) in Afghanistan and Pakistan, died in a US drone strike last month, the US believes.

Last year, the Afghan intelligence agency said it believed Saeed had died in a drone attack in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar.
However, IS insisted its leader had survived that attack.
On Friday a US defence official told the BBC that Saeed had been killed in a new drone attack on 26 July.
He died in the Kot district of Nangarhar, the official said.

Polio Emergency startated in Nigeria

Nigeria has announced an emergency mass polio vaccination campaign in the north-east after two new cases emerged.

They were the first incidences of the highly infectious disease in Africa for two years.
The government said polio paralysed two children in Borno state, a part of Nigeria where Boko Haram militants have hindered health campaigns.
The development is seen as a major setback for Nigeria, which was on track to be declared polio free in 2017.
The cases were confirmed exactly two years after Africa's last previous case - in the Puntland region of Somalia, on 11 August 2014.

A series of blasts across Thailand has targeted tourist towns, killing four people and injuring dozens.

Four bombs exploded in the resort town of Hua Hin, while several blasts hit the island of Phuket, a top tourist destination, all within a 24-hour period on Thursday and Friday.
No group has said it carried out the attacks, but suspicion is likely to fall on separatist insurgents.
The timing is sensitive, as Friday is a holiday marking the queen's birthday.

Man killed by deputy in Compton not involved with carjacker

A black man fatally shot by a deputy in an armored vehicle last month wasn't involved with a carjacker who had fired at police, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department acknowledged Tuesday, just before the man's family said authorities had killed an innocent man.
The department said deputies had encountered 27-year-old Donnell Thompson shortly after a carjacker crashed the stolen vehicle, fled into a Compton neighborhood and was arrested early on July 28.
