Growing up back in the 90’s was so much fun even if we didn’t have all these gadgets kids of today have at their disposal.

We had a lot of fun and we didn’t have to worry about being killed or being bewitched. We just had fun with friends and there was a lot of games to play too.
Life was so simple and easy than we have now. Below are things we love about childhood in the 80’s

1. There Was No Over Spiritualization

Spirituality has become so much a part of the lives of Ghanaians that even kids have been roped in on the trend. Kids are now not allowed to play with even their own relatives just because their parents have been told that their family members are witches.

2. Everyone Was Your Friend

Kids back in the 80’s had friends everywhere. Anybody of your age bracket was your friend and you could play with him/her without any problem. They could even come to your house to play and eat and you could also do same. Life was that simple.

3. There Was Always Something To Play With

Kids of today will cry because they don’t have toys or video games. In the 80’s, we made toys out of practically everything and we played games we invented ourselves. From “discus”, made with Sardine openers, to “alikoto”, made using flattened crown cocks with pen tops inserted in their middle, to kites etc.

President Buhari’s 2016 Independence Anniversary speech-Full Text

On 1st October is a day of celebration for  Nigerian  On this day, 56 years ago our people achieved the most important of all human desires – freedom and independence. We should all therefore give thanks and pray for our founding fathers without whose efforts and toil we would not reap the bounties of today.

2. I know that uppermost in your minds today is the economic crisis. The recession for many individuals and families is real. For some It means not being able to pay school fees, for others it’s not being able to afford the high cost of food (rice and millet) or the high cost of local or international travel, and for many of our young people the recession means joblessness, sometimes after graduating from university or polytechnic.

3. I know how difficult things are, and how rough business is. All my adult life I have always earned a salary and I know what it is like when your salary simply is not enough. In every part of our nation people are making incredible sacrifices.
