MORE RAINS COMING BY MATEO

The Ghana Meteorological Agency is predicting more rains in the coming days.

According to the Agency, the amount of rains being experienced is normal for this time of the year.

Accra experienced a heavy downpour to the magnitude of 123 millimetres yesterday [Thursday] resulting in flooding in most suburbs.

Speaking to Citi News, a forecaster at the Ghana Meteorological Service, Frederick Otu- Larbi says the weather will completely clear up by the weekend.

“For the rest of the week we are going to have a few more rainfall events. I should say a rainfall amount of a hundred and over millimeters is not a very common occurrence so in terms of what happened on Thursday we are not expecting that in the course of the week however, we will get a few more rainfall.”

“On Friday in particular I am expecting some rainfall about 9am onwards till about midday. But towards the weekend things should clear up a bit up until next week,” he added.

A separate statement issued by the Agency further said Ghanaians should expect “heavy rainfall and gusty winds …over the northern sector of the country this morning.”

“The coastal areas are also expected to experience intermittent light to moderate rain showers this morning and early parts of the afternoon. Later in the afternoon, the entire country is expected to be cloudy with isolated cases of thunderstorms occurring over places in the middle portions of the country.”
