President Dilma Removed From Office

Brazil's Senate has voted to remove President Dilma Rousseff from office for manipulating the budget.

It puts an end to 13 years in power of her left-wing Workers' Party. Ms Rousseff denies the charges.

Sixty-one senators voted in favour of her impeachment and 20 against, meeting the two-thirds majority needed to remove her from the presidency.
Acting President Michel Temer will serve out Ms Rousseff's term, which ends on 1 January 2019.Mr Temer, from the centre-right PMDB party, is expected to be officially sworn in later on Wednesday.

President Ali Bongo Declared Winner-Gabon

The ruling president Ali Bongo Ondimba has been declared president-elect of Gabon after polling 49.85% of votes whiles his main opponent, Jena Ping polled 48.16 % according to the electoral body.
Announcement of results from Saturday August 27 polls was postponed by the Minister of Interior on Tuesday as he was in a meeting with the electoral body.
There will be no second round voting as the country runs the simple majority popular vote system.
The victory comes after a long wait culminating into controversies amid tension including trading of allegations of fraud by both camps of incumbent president Ali Bongo and Jean Ping.

Another Reshuffle in Ghana Police Service

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) John Kudalor has re-assigned 90 police officers across the country.

Prominent on the list is ACP Nuhu Alhassan Jango, Nima Divisional Police Commander, who is heading to the Eastern region as second-in-command.

This is the IGP’s fourth reshuffle since his appointment in November 2015. n the latest shake-up, ninety officers with various portfolios at the national headquarters, and others serving as district commanders among others were affected.

Notable among them is ACP Nuhu Alhassan Jango, Nima Divisional Police Commander who is now heading to the Eastern Region as a 2i/c.

ACP Peter Gyimah of the Community Policing Unit in the Ashanti Region, is now the Wenchi Divisional Commander.

New law on church construction-Egypt

The Egyptian law makers  on Tuesday signed a new law in the construction of churches, despite  opposition by some members of the Christian community which complains of discrimination.
The Copts also complain about hostility of some conservative Muslims, who often oppose the presence of Christian places of worship in their village, especially in the rural areas of the South and centre of the country.
According to official statistics, Egypt has some 2,869 churches for a Coptic community, which represent nearly 10% of 90 million people.
In rural and poor areas, the private churches are often forced to pray in their homes and are sometimes attacked by Muslim neighbors.

Chibok Girls Activists Denies Access To The Presidency

For third attempt within a week,  Girls activists have been prevented from having access to president Muhammadu Buhari to press home their demands for the rescue of the missing Chibok girls.
The latest protest was different from the previous two as the protesters sealed their lips with tapes in what the group described as a ‘‘silent march.’‘ The group has in the past undertaken such processions to the presidency.
As they approached the presidential palace, they were met by a police barricade. They sat on the streets before the police and addressed their concerns relating to the Chibok girls who were abducted by Boko Haram in 2014.

Donald Announces A Surprise Visit To Maxico

Donald Trump announced Tuesday night that he will meet Wednesday with the President of Mexico just hours before he is set to deliver a speech focused on immigration policy.
Mr Trump tweeted that he was looking forward to meeting President Enrique Pena Nieto, who has invited both him and Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Mr Pena Nieto said dialogue would help "protect Mexicans wherever they are".

Mr Trump has condemned Mexican migrants during his campaign and vowed to build a wall between the two countries.

He will visit Mexico in between a fundraising event in California and his immigration speech in Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday night.

Beauty queen Baylee Curran told the LA Times Mr Brown had pointed the gun at her face after she had been admiring his friend's jewellery.
Mr Brown came out of his home after a stand-off with police on Tuesday.
Mr Brown's lawyer tweeted that his client was later freed, adding that the accusations were "demonstrably false".
It is not yet clear if Mr Brown was charged or released on bail.
The singer has several convictions for violence, including a 2009 assault on his then girlfriend, pop star Rihanna.

Breaking News:Apple to Pay £13bn to Ireland

US technology giant Apple has been ordered to pay €13bn (£11bn) in back taxes after a European probe.
After a three-year long investigation, it has concluded that the US firm's tax benefits are illegal.
It said "this selective treatment" allowed Apple to pay an effective tax rate of 1% on its European profits.
The Commission said this enabled it to pay substantially less than other businesses.
Apple and the Irish government are likely to appeal against the ruling.

Breaking News:Suicide bomber attack Chinese Embassy in Bishkek

A suicide bomber carrying a bomb attack  Chinese embassy in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, officials say.
The suicide bomber died and three embassy employees, all Kyrgyz nationals, were injured, Deputy PM Zhenish Razakov said.
The chief of security at the Chinese embassy told the local AKIpress news agency that no Chinese were hurt.
Social media footage showed smoke billowing above the building.
China's foreign ministry condemned the incident as an "extreme and violent attack" and urged Kyrgyz authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.
No-one has yet said they were behind the attack

Former al-Shabab leader defects from the group

The Somali authorities on  Monday said a former al-Shabab leader had broke from the group and joined the Somali government.
Local media reports that Ibrahim Aden Ibrahim was said to be the the group’s head of education in Bay, in Somalia’s Bakool regions in the country’s southwest.
According to Voice of America’s Harun Maruf, Ibrahim who was shown addressing the media stated that he decided to leave al-Shabab and take advantage of the government’s amnesty offer.
The Al Qaeda-linked group have claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks on civilians and on government and international security forces deployed to fight them. They still hold some regions in the country even though their capabilities are thought to be waning.

Gas Explosion in Bole Destroyed Lives and Properties


 Tinga in the Bole district,four people reported dead in gas explosion. This brings to six the number of persons who are feared dead as a result of the incident.

Trailer of a fuel tanker is said to have caused the explosion. DCE for the area James Jaaga tells Joy News the police is yet to launch investigations to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the explosion.

But the Ghana National Fire Service has been at the scene to ensure safety.

"We have been trying to talk to the Fire Service but they are saying they have to do some investigations before they can come out with what triggered the explosion. Also, the police commander says already they have been able to control the situation at the blast area," Mr Jaaga said.

Finally definate ceasefire has come into effect in Colombia between the main leftist rebel group and the government, ending one of the world's longest insurgencies.
The ceasefire at midnight local time (05:00 GMT Monday) came after four years of peace talks in Cuba between the Farc and the government.
The final agreement on ending the 52-year-old war will be signed next month.
Farc leader Rodrigo Londono, known as Timoleon Jimenez or Timochenko, gave the order to stop firing.
"Never again will parents be burying their sons and daughters killed in the war,'' Timochenko told journalists. "All rivalries and grudges will remain in the past," he said.

17 Robbers have been paraded for robbing Lagos Residents

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP, Fatai Owoseni, on Friday paraded 17 robbers who specialised in robbing Lagos residents on motorcycles. The CP said the suspects, including a 20-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Oluwole Sunday, were arrested a week ago, revealing that some of the robbers concentrated on people leaving banks with the hope that any bag they held must have money in it.Owoseni said, “The police impounded a motorcycle used by one of the suspects that had been modified for increased speed. During the operations that led to the arrest of the suspects, two of them engaged the police in a shootout and they were killed in the process.”

A frauster in Kumasi is on the Run

A  Circuit Court in Kumasi has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a man, accused of  defrauding four persons under the pretext of helping them to secure employment.

George Adjei had collected a total of GH¢ 74,000.00 from the victims with a promise to get them employed by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Social Security and the National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) but failed to keep his word.

He was arraigned, pleaded not guilty to the crime and granted GH¢ 80,000.00 bail but jumped bail.

His two other accomplices, George Boafo and Daniel Aluu, are also on the run. The court, presided over by Mrs. Mary Nsenkyire, has adjourned the case to September 1 2016.

Ghanaian actress and movie producer Yvonne Nelson have been in severals news  on her relationship,entering and exiting many dating.

At age 30, the movie producer is still single and she is not happy about it. The actress is willing to relegate herself from the spinster football league but afraid she might fall into the hands of a wrong man. Yvonne in an interview with MzGee said she cried the night before her 30th birthday after realising she is not growing younger.
According to her, people used to question ladies who were in their thirties about marriage when she was young so she was frightened when entering her thirties but had not seen signs of marriage.
Yvonne left Ghana to Italy before she turned 30 last year thinking it was going to release the pressure on her to get marry but the story was the same.

People associated with Boko Haram are facing vitimization from their own society

People associated with Boko Harm ,especially women and children are now facing isolation and neglect from their own communities in Nigeria.
The victims include children and wives of Boko Haram militants whose fathers and husbands were either killed or have disappeared following the ongoing crackdown on the militant group in Nigeria.
They have been insulted and their lives threatened.
Fatima Salisu, wife of former Boko Haram militia, living in Maiduguri, told the AFP news agency that they are faced with social isolation in their own community

South Sudan Unrest

A report from  UN stated that nearly about one million South Sudanese people, mostly women and children, have fled to neighboring countries, where they live in overcrowded camps.

According to the refugee agency UNHCR, there 930,000 South Sudanese refugees hosted in six different countries in the region, and some 1.6 million living in internally displaced persons’ camps.
“Uganda is hosting a record number of Refugees, half a million. They come from Burundi, DRC and from South Sudan, which was affected by very serious fighting initially at the end of 2013,” said WFP Uganda’s Mike Sackett.
The agency has also asserted there’s difficulty for humanitarian agencies and host countries to cope with the new influx of refugees, which was triggered by the deadly fighting that broke out in early July between President Salva Kiir’s forces and troops loyal to former Vice President Riek Machar.

Boko Haram Leader Wounded in a Clash between Nigerian Forces

Nigeria’s military claimed Tuesday to have seriously injured Boko Haram’s elusive leader Abubakar Shekau and killed other commanders in an air strike on the Islamist group’s forest stronghold.
Nigeria has repeatedly claimed to have killed Shekau in previous raids only for him to appear shortly afterwards in videos.
Shekau was “fatally wounded in the shoulder” during Friday’s raids, said army spokesman Sani Usman in a statement, without giving further details.
Usman also said three Boko Haram commanders — Abubakar Mubi, Malam Nuhu and Malam Hamman — were confirmed dead with several others wounded.
The claim comes as US Secretary of State John Kerry visits the country for talks likely to focus on the fight against Boko Haram, which launched an uprising in 2009.

Housemaid steals her master's children, turns them to beggars

A middle-aged Fulani woman has been arrested after she stole two children in Ogere, Remo North local government area of Ogun State, and turned them to beggars in Ikorodu, a Lagos suburb.
The suspect simply identified as Asmau allegedly disappeared with two female children of  her mistress, Amina, 6 and Rukayya, 7, Vanguard reported.
The report says Asmau worked with the mother of the children, Hauwa, as a house maid for four months and lived in their house at Ogere, only to abduct them under the pretense of taking them to their grandmother in Lagos

Syria untrest-Turkey play active role

Turkish authorities says it will take a more active role in efforts to end the war in Syria and accepts President Bashar al-Assad as an interim but not long-term player.

But announcing the Turkish policy shift, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim insisted that Mr Assad "can't have a role in Syria's future".

"He is one of the actors today, whether we like it or not," Mr Yildirim said.

Fighting has continued in the city of Hassakeh, where Syrian government jets have bombed Kurdish areas for two days.

Hassakeh, 80km (50 miles) south of the Turkish border, is mainly controlled by the Kurdish YPG militia, but Mr Assad's government forces are trying to push them out.

Bolt make another record in Rio Olympics 2016

Usain Bolt ended his Olympic career by claiming an unprecedented 'triple triple' and his ninth gold as Jamaica won the 4x100m relay final in race against Japan and the United States into a never-a-doubt runaway, helping Jamaica cross the line in 37.27.
Japan won the silver medal, finishing .33 seconds behind.

The U.S. finished the race third but endured yet another relay debacle -- disqualified because leadoff runner Mike Rodgers passed the baton to Justin Gatlin outside the exchange zone. That promoted Canada to the bronze medal.

The Chairmaan of Republican presidential nominee Paul Manafort,has resigned just 60days after taking the helm.

He has come under fire for his ties to Russian interests and former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.

Trump Naked statue amused crowd

The most surprising government agency to lampoon Donald Trump this week? The New York City Parks Department.
The department issued a short response after an arts group called Indecline hoisted a life-size, naked Trump statue in Union Square park Thursday.
"NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small," said Sam Biederman, a parks spokesman.
Indecline, described by The Guardian as an anarchist group, installed nude Trump statues in other cities around the country, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cleveland and Seattle, the paper reported.
A video on Indecline's website shows the creators crafting the statue, using paintbrushes and watersprays to mold the clay body and carving "Ginger" into the footboard.

In US the Authotrities have apologised for Bent behaviour

US authorities have apologised for what it called the unacceptable behaviour of four US swimmers who falsely said they had been robbed at gunpoint in Rio.
Police questioned three of the gold medal winners and say "they were not victims of the crimes they claimed".
Two of the four - Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger - were allowed to fly out of Rio on Thursday evening.
Ryan Lochte had already left, and James Feigen remains in Brazil.

Injured boy in air strike

An image of a young boy injured in an air strike in Aleppo has been circulating on social media.
Syrian opposition group, the Aleppo Media Center, released the footage in which a man is seen carrying the boy into an ambulance, where he sits looking dazed and bloodied.
Former Labour MP David Miliband, now president & CEO of the International Rescue Committee, was one of those to retweet the image.
The child is believed to be recovering with his family.

U.S athlete invented robbery story

American Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte fabricated a story about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio de Janeiro, a Brazilian police official told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The official, who has direct knowledge of the investigation, spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about an ongoing probe.
One of the athletes broke the door to the bathroom and a row ensued when attendants asked the Americans to pay for the damage, they said.
After security guards were called in, the Americans reportedly paid and left.

President didn't give money-Wayoosi

Actor Wayoosi born Joseph Osei has reacted to reports that President John Dramani Mahama donated an amount of GH¢5,000 to support him when he was on his sick bed.

The Kumawood star who was discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi days ago speaking on New Mercury in the Garden City disclosed that it was rather the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare who delegated some industry players to give him the amount but not the first gentleman of the land as it was reported.

Bolt surges to historic third 100m gold

Jamaica’s Usain Bolt became the first athlete to win three Olympic 100m titles by beating American Justin Gatlin to gold at Rio 2016.

Bolt, 29, ran 9.81 seconds in his final Olympics to replicate his success at Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

Gatlin, twice banned for doping offences, finished 0.08 seconds behind Bolt to take silver.

“I expected to go faster, but I’m happy that I won,” Bolt told BBC Sport. “I’m here to perform. I did what I had to.”

Canada’s Andre de Grasse took bronze in a personal best of 9.91, ahead of Bolt’s Jamaican team-mate Yohan Blake.

Milwaukee Violence-one person shot dead

Authorities said one person was shot at a Milwaukee protest on Sunday and officers used an armored vehicle to retrieve the injured victim and take the person to a hospital, as tense skirmishes erupted for a second night following the police shooting of a black man.
Some two dozen officers in riot gear confronted about 150 people who blocked an intersection near the fatal shooting Saturday afternoon, and more arrived. Police moved in to try to disperse the crowd and warned of arrests after protesters threw bottles and rocks at police and shots were fired.

Many people mourn mugging victims in China

Members of the Chinese community in the Parisian suburb of Aubervilliers have held a memorial for a man who was killed by muggers.
At least 500 people gathered outside the mayor's office to remember Zhang Chaolin and protest at violence they say is being directed at them.
Mr Zhang, a textile designer, 49, died on Friday after five days in a coma.
The father-of-two had been attacked by three men while walking with a friend, a police source said.
According to the source, Mr Zhang was kicked in the sternum and fell, striking his head on the pavement. The attackers were allegedly trying to steal his friend's bag.

Fomer President Jerry Rawlings has admonished the NDC against complacency as they go into the 2016 elections. According to Rawlings who is also the founder of the NDC, the December 7 polls will not be an easy task but will be challenging and demanding. “What is ahead of you will not be an easy task, it will be a challenge and demanding. Don’t allow undue provocation to create undue tension. “The NPP cannot be underestimated, they’ve been existence for a long time and have been changing their names till this date, the nature of who they are, what they are, where they’ve come from is something they are happy with and they will be there for a long time. "The calculation of what and who they …it is important that we fight this election on our terms and not their terms. Let us not mimic their behavior,” Rawlings told the teeming NDC supporters in Cape Coast where the party is launching its campaign for the 2016 elections. President John Mahama has crowned the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) champions in vitriolic attacks in Ghana’s body politic.
“They are even quick to threaten people who differ with the opinions of the leader with physical harm. It is clear that they have already won an Olympic gold medal in insults,” he stated.
President Mahama made the comment while addresing party members at Cape Coast during NDC's campaign launch, Sunday.
According to him, "those who can hurl the most verbal abuse are those hailed most in the largest opposition party".
The President expressed worry at the development in the political party that prides itself as democratic since “the verbal abuse has led to a culture of silence in the largest opposition party".
“…It has been the characteristics and a feature in this  elections; that the EC is attacked every step of the way by the NPP. And it is part of the strategy to discredit the EC.
President Mahama said he is now immune to the insults from members of the NPP since even "former President Kufuor on whose trackrecord they using to come back to power is not spared".
“….The mark of a leader is one that is able to unite his supporters behind him. They are now quick to commend people who hurl insults at me and my government. Even the former President Kufuor has not been spared the brunt of their attacks.

According to him, the party is quick to commend any member who is able to hurl insults at him and his administration.

Speaking at the 2016 campaign launch of the NDC in Cape Coast, Mr. Mahama mocked developments in the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition saying the party has silenced all level-headed people within its fold.

Thai Authorities have identified those behind bombing on tourists destination

Thai Police have identified a suspect who bomb four tourist,a spokesman of police authority said sunday,but officials remained tight-lipped on the details on it's findings.
At least two men have been held for questioning over the blasts in Hua Hin — a resort town struck by four of the bombs — and a third was arrested over a suspected arson attack in a separate province, police said.

Queens Land-Imam and His Assistant shot dead


An imam and his assistant were shot dead as they walked along a street in the New York borough of Queens.

The men were approached from behind by a man who shot them both in the head, a police spokesman said.

Imam Maulama Akonjee, 55, moved to the city from Bangladesh two years ago, reports in New York said.

Police said there were as yet "no indications" the men were targeted because of their faith.

A man holding a gun was seen leaving the scene of the shooting in the Ozone Park area, but no-one has been arrested.

Police said the suspect had a "medium complexion".

Imam Akonjee and his assistant Thara Uddin, 64, were shot a short walk from the al-Furqan Jame mosque at about 13:50 local time (17:50 GMT) on Saturday.

BREAKING NEWS:Boko Haram Shows Chibok purports Video

A new video from Boko Haram purporting to show Nigerian schoolgirls abducted from Chibok two years ago was released Sunday.
The militant also says some of the girls have been killed in air strikes.
The group seized 276 final-year girls from their school in the northern town of Chibok in April 2014.
Boko Haram is believed to still be holding more than 200 of those kidnapped.
The video begins with a shot of a masked man, carrying a gun, speaking to the camera. He says that some of the girls have been wounded and have life-threatening injuries, and that 40 have been "married"

South African prophet Lethebo Rabalango has given out his prophecy saying Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe will never die to be buried, but instead will be taken to heaven by what he describes as an Angelic Horse.
The Prophet made the revelations at his Mount of Zion General Assembly church in Polokwane during a Friday Night Service.

Historic Flooding In Louisiana Have claim Lives and Properties

More lives and thousands of properties have been destroyed by flooding in Louisiana.
The National Guard and emergency teams have used helicopters to rescue people stranded in their homes or cars.
Searches are continuing for missing people, as the rain is expected to continue over the weekend.
The heavy rainfall started on Friday where some areas received more than 17ins (43cm) of rain.
The neighbouring states of Alabama and Mississippi are also experiencing severe weather.
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency on Friday. On Saturday he said: "This is an ongoing event. We're still in response mode."
He and his family were relocated after water flooded their basement.

Kiev denies employing suspect saboteur plotted bomb attack

Ukrainian Defense Ministry on Saturday denied that the suspected saboteurs who  plotted bomb attacks in Crimea are their emplyees, according to a statement.
"The ministry reports that there has never been the 37th battalion in the 56th brigade of the Defense Intelligence. The reported detained people are not employees of the Defense Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry," according to the statement.
The denial came as a response to the information given on Friday by a Russian intelligence source, who according to RIA Novosti news agency named Vladimir Serdyuk as organizer of the planned acts of sabotage in Crimea

A man sets fire on train

A knifeman has set fire to a train in north-eastern Switzerland, leaving six people in hospital with stab wounds and burns, police say.
The suspect, described as a Swiss man aged 27, was also taken to hospital after the incident near Salez in St Gallen Canton, close to Liechtenstein.
He had ignited a flammable liquid before attacking people with a knife.
Among the injured is a child of six. There was no immediate information as to motive or background.
Three rescue helicopters are at the scene. A major police operation is under way.
The attack occurred around 14:20 (12:20 GMT) as the train was approaching Salez station, between the towns of Buchs and Sennwald.

In Manbij More 2,000 people freed from Isis camp

The Islamic State stronghold of Manbij, in northern Syria, has fallen to allied Arab and Kurdish fighters, who freed more than 2,000 hostages who had been held there by the terrorist group.
