US technology giant Apple has been ordered to pay €13bn (£11bn) in back taxes after a European probe.
After a three-year long investigation, it has concluded that the US firm's tax benefits are illegal.
It said "this selective treatment" allowed Apple to pay an effective tax rate of 1% on its European profits.
The Commission said this enabled it to pay substantially less than other businesses.
Apple and the Irish government are likely to appeal against the ruling.
